Emma Seddon, a corporate lawyer with extensive experience in a wide range of corporate and commercial work, has joined Vialex as a Senior Legal Adviser.  Emma has particular experience in advising financial services businesses and other clients working in heavily regulated areas, having worked in-house with EDF Renewables before joining Vialex, and prior to that, completing 10 years with the corporate team at CMS (formerly Dundas & Wilson), as a senior associate.

Commenting on her appointment Emma said: “I am excited to be joining Vialex, a very forward-thinking business that has grown significantly since its launch, and I’m looking forward to being part of that growth in the future.”

Also joining the team are consultants Christelle Baillie, who trained with and spent five years at Dentons, before four years with Sainsbury’s Bank, and Michael Drysdale, who was previously with Wright Johnston & Mackenzie. Michael has extensive experience advising and structuring early-stage companies, which is one of the focuses of a recently announced initiative by Vialex, in the form of a strategic venture with London-based Innovation Warehouse.

Natasha Edgecombe, formerly a corporate lawyer with DLA Piper, joins to provide specialist advice in areas such as compliance and anti-money laundering.

Vialex CEO, Keith Anderson said “We are looking forward to a busy year, as our client base continues to grow, and Emma, Christelle, Michael and Natasha add to our firepower. They are all experienced lawyers who will provide practical and commercial advice.
We remain as focused on Scotland as ever, but we have made significant client wins and there are many other opportunities presenting themselves in England, which we are well placed to support. We are very much a UK business, as our move into London demonstrates.”
