Vialex continues to grow its Legal Counsel Service team with the appointment of Liz Chalmers as a legal adviser. She joins after six years at Pinsent Masons LLP (legacy McGrigors LLP) where she undertook her traineeship, qualifying into the non-contentious intellectual property team. She is a specialist in intellectual property and commercial contract work and also a part-time tutor providing distance learning support to the University of Edinburgh Intellectual Property LLM.
Alongside her IP and contract skills, Liz brings substantial experience in data protection compliance, marketing and advertising regulation, consumer protection and e-commerce, supply and licensing of software and agency and distribution arrangements. Importantly, having worked as in-house counsel, she has an understanding of the day to day commercial needs of clients and the importance of delivering focussed and practical advice to meet those needs.
Seona Burnett, Senior Legal Adviser said “We are delighted that Liz has joined us. Her focus at Vialex will be to work alongside other members of the team to meet the increasing demand for our outsourced in-house legal counsel service and further strengthen our offering to clients.”
